About
The practice behind Inner Connexion — and the person who lived her way into it.
“Transformation is not about fixing anxiety, stress, or burnout. It is about changing the relationship you have with yourself. When that relationship changes, everything else begins to change with it.”
— Iren Merdinyan, Founder of Inner Connexion
Whether through 1:1 Inner Connexion Sessions, Focusing training, retreats, or future programmes, every offering is grounded in the same understanding:
Lasting transformation begins when we learn to relate differently to ourselves.

Hi, I am Iren
This is not work I came to through training alone. It came through my own experience — of stress, of patterns that didn’t respond to understanding, and of the gap between knowing something and actually feeling differently.
Over time, I realised that the deepest transformation was not changing emotions, behaviours, or circumstances. It was changing the relationship I had with myself.
This work deeply supported my own journey — helping me process long-held emotions, soften patterns of stress, and develop a deeper trust in my own inner knowing. Through Focusing I discovered a different way of listening: not trying to fix what I was experiencing, but meeting it with curiosity, presence, and compassion.
That simple shift changed the relationship I had with myself. Everything that I now offer through Inner Connexion grows from that experience.
What emerged from that journey became Inner Connexion Method: a practice of feeling good about yourself.
The Inner Connexion Method
The Inner Connexion Method is not a single technique. It is an integration — drawn from professional training, lived experience, and more than twenty years of personal practice.
At its heart is a practice of listening — to the body, to emotin, and to the deeper intelligence within your lived experience.
Not fixing. Not analysing. Not improving. But learning to listen — to the body, to the felt sense, and to the deeper intelligence within your lived experience.
Each of the approaches that inform this work opens that listening in a different way.
My work supports people in transforming the relationship they have with themselves through Focusing, somatic practice, embodied awareness, and nervous system-informed work.

Professional Training & Lineage
I am a certified practitioner of Focusing, and Somatic Attachment Therapy, with a background in yoga, meditation, and embodied awareness practices spanning more than twenty years.
Focusing Developed by philosopher and psychotherapist Eugene Gendlin, Focusing forms the foundation of this work. It is a practice of listening to the felt sense — the subtle, pre-verbal experience carried in the body beneath thoughts, emotions, and familiar narratives. What is Focusing?
Thinking at the Edge (TAE) A further development of Gendlin’s work, TAE supports the articulation of what is felt but not yet fully known, allowing new understanding to emerge directly from lived experience rather than analysis alone. What is TAE?
The PUPA Process (training in progress) Developed by Annette Dubreuil, the PUPA Process integrates the six steps of Focusing with Theory U and the eight qualities of Self-Leadership. It draws on principles of experience-dependent neuroplasticity, supporting lasting change through embodied and resourced states of awareness. What is PUPA Process?
Somatic Attachment Therapy An attachment-informed and nervous-system-oriented approach that supports working with relational patterns formed early in life, helping emotional experience be met with greater safety, capacity, and self-compassion.
Movement, Yoga & Embodiment More than twenty years of practice and eight years of teaching Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, and Himalayan Kriya Yoga continue to inform my understanding of the body as a place of awareness, rest, and inner intelligence.
Meditation & Contemplative Practice Long-term meditation and awareness practices have shaped my capacity to remain present with experience without immediately trying to change it — a quality central to all Inner Connexion work.
Non-Dual Understanding An orientation towards awareness itself, informing my understanding that lasting change arises not through fixing ourselves, but through presence and a different relationship with experience.
Toltec Principles & Understanding My long-term study and training with Théun Mares has deeply shaped my understanding of transformation, perception, emotional awareness, intent, personal responsibility, and freedom from self-imposed limitation. More about Toltec Legacy.
