Inner and Outer Connections
“Safety is not the absence of threat; It is the presence of connection”
—Gabor Maté
In our collective obsession with avoiding triggers, we’ve built protective alienating bubbles —comfort zones where growth and the evolution of awareness are stifled. Yes, there might be fewer triggers, and the comfort can feel good for a while. Eventually, it becomes a numbing space, disconnected from the aliveness that true transformation invites.
Speaking from experience, I spent years meticulously creating a comfort bubble for myself. It served a purpose—a necessary sanctuary. But it wasn’t until I spent extended periods in different environments that I began to see how limiting that bubble could become if not balanced with a continuous desire to explore unknown territories, to stretch myself out to the edge of the comfort zone where the fertile space for change is, to connect, and to be in communion with others who are also on their path of self-knowledge. Ultimately, this was my need for a deeper inner connection and exploration of the Self.
There is a vital need for individuation—for breaking free from the tribe and learning to stand firmly on our own two feet. It’s a sacred rite of passage. But there comes a time when the next step in our evolution calls us to integrate what we’ve discovered, learned—not in isolation, but in relationship. And creating these relationship from a place of deep inner connection. That’s the only way we can explore as inter-relationship and inter-dependency not co-dependency.
Lets’ be brave enough to exploring and witness each other in a circle of community. Focusing Groups can be a great way to explore this theme and I highly recommend Changes Groups. For future Changes Groups organised by Inner Connexion please subscribe to our Newsletter.
